This years panto involves a lot of the cast that participated the first attempt. With the added bonus of their so called experience, this years panto promises to be one of the best since last years panto. The plot is basically the same as the classic Aladdin but with many twist and turns which promises to ensure that the panto will entertain people of all ages. The script was again written by the infamous Mr. Gilligan and again he made a good job of creating an enjoyable, funny and musical panto.
The story involves the normal characters of the panto, such as Aladdin, Yasmin, The Sultan, and of course The Genie of the Lamp. The panto also involves such diverse characters as Muzz, Wishee-Washee, Mr. Flunkitt, Sherezade the Genie of the Ring, Mrs. Twankey and Rosie and of course the baddie Abenezar. The story is based in the Drogheda Area just like Cinderollie. The Sultan(Mr. McCann) is a Sandman from Termonfeckin who lives with his wife and lovely daughter Yassie. The Fairy Queen is double-jobbing as a member of the school staff who just happens to make Yassie a very happy girl, who wants to fall in love with a lad in(Aladdin) her class.
Just as every thing seems to be going well the Evil baddie Abenezar manages to ruin everything by getting hold of the lamp. in the end good triumphs over evil and the panto ends with a very happy ending. The play involves loads of singing and dancing.
