Scoil MhuireScoil Mhuire is a medium sized primary school situated at the coast on the south side of Dublin city. The school is an all girls school and we have 274 students from 4 years of age to 12 years of age. "Scoil Mhuire " [pronounced SKUL WIRA ] is the Irish for School of Our Lady and it is predominantly a catholic school.
The Curriculum consists of Irish, English, Mathematics, Religion, Art, Craft, Music, Drama, Geography, History, Elementary Science and Nature Study, Physical Education and Civics.
There are 8 classes and 11 teachers. School opens at 8.50a.m. and finishes at 2.30p.m. Unlike most other countries, the majority of Irish children start school at four years of age because there is no state sponsored Kindergarten education. The four and five year old girls go home at 1.30p.m.
