REGIONAL NETWORK

Each school and member is attached to a region of IAPCE. What is on offer locally will depend on the needs of teachers/students in the area. It also greatly influenced by the time and organisation needed to make things happen locally. This element of IAPCE is emerging well at present but certainly varies from region to region. There is no blue print for how a region develops - just be aware there are ample funds to assist. Within regions it may become desirable to have branches so that travel etc. is cut down and specific needs can be met. Please contact your local co-ordinator or the IAPCE Office in
Marino for any assistance in the building up of a local network.
Local Co-ordinators:

Dublin South: Mary McAteer - Loreto College on the Green.
Dublin North: Donal Moxham - Mt. Temple Comprehensive.
North East: Joe Lynch - St. Joesph's Secondary, Drogheda.
Midlands West: Gerry Watchorn, CBS Carlow.
Midlands East: Aidan O'Reily, CBS Port Laoise.
South: Frances Murphy, Cashel Community School.
West: Teresa Nolan, Mercy College, Tuam.

Books are available on Pastoral Care, Whole-School Planning and Relationships and Sexuality. IAPCE hopes to publish its first book at Easter on the role of the Form Teacher by Luke Monahan. Finally each region is encouraged to set up its own resource centre with Social, Personal and Health Education resources - funds are available.
